Sehnsucht nach den Bergen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Ihr Auen hoch oben
im sonnigen Schein!
Da drüben, da droben
da möcht' ich wohl sein.

Ein Dörflein, das schwebet
still über der Kluft,
als ob es nur webet
in Licht und in Luft.

Nach den sonnigen Auen
da stehet mein Sinn,
zum Dörflein im Blauen
da zieht es mich hin.

Yearning for the mountains
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Ye meadows on high
in the sunny radiance!
Yonder, yonder
I would so gladly be.

A little village that hovers
quietly above the chasm,
as if it were only woven
in light and in air.

To the sunny meadows
my spirit is turned,
to the little village in the blueness,
that is where I am drawn.
