Da liegt der Feinde gestreckte Schar, 
Sie liegt in ihrem blutroten Blut.
Wie haut er so scharf, wie haut er so gut,
Der flinke Husar!

Da liegen sie, ha! so bleich und rot,
Es zittern und wanken noch, husch! husch!
Ihre Seelen auf seinem Federbusch;
Da liegen sie tot.

Und weiter ruft der Trompetenruf,
Er wischt an die Mähne sein nasses Schwert,
Und weiter springt sein lustiges Pferd
Mit rotem Huf.

Com colpeja fort, com colpeja bé,
l’hússar veloç!

Jauen allà, ah! Pàl·lids i vermells,
tremolen i vacil·len encara, moixoni!
Llurs ànimes al seu plomall;
jauen allà morts.

I les cornetes criden encara,
ell eixuga l’espasa molla a la crinera del cavall
que alegre salta encara
amb les seves peülles vermelles.
