Weihnachten
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG
 Leise weht's durch alle Lande
 wie ein Gruss vom Sternenzeit,
 schlinget neue Liebesbande
 um die ganze weite Welt.

 Jedes Herz mit starkem Triebe
 ist zu Opfern froh bereit,
denn es naht das Fest der Liebe,
 denn es naht die Weihnachtszeit.

Und schon hat mit tausend Sternen
 sich des Himmels Glanz entfacht,
 leise tönt aus Himmelsfernen
 Weihgesang der heil'gen Nacht.

 Hell aus jedem Fenster strahlet
 wundersam des Chritsbaums Licht,
 und der Freude schimmer malet
 sich auf jedem Angesicht.

 Lichte Himmelsboten schweben
 ungeseh'n von Haus zu Haus;
 selig Nehmen, selig Geben
 geht von ihrer Mitte aus.

 O willkommen, Weihnachtsabend,
 allen Menschen, gross und klein!
 Friedebringend, froh und labend
 mögst du allen Herzen sein!

Christmas Eve
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Softly drifting throug the country
like a starry greeting from heaven
weave your new love's band to
embrace the whole wide world.

Each heart with strong desire
will gladly make the necessary sacrifices,
for the celebration of God's love,
for Christmas time is near.

And the brilliant sky has already been
illuminated with thousands of stars,
to a faraway solemn sound
drifting softly through the Holy Night.

Brightly shines from every window
the Christmas trees' enchanting light,
and happiness paints a glow
on every face.

Heaven's shiny heralds float
unnoticed from house to house;
blessedly giving, blessedly receiving
Conveying from their midst.

Oh welcome, Christmas eve,
to all mankind, grown or small!
May you bring peace, joy and
nourishment to all hearts.
