Frühlingslied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der du kamst von lichten Höhen
Und erwecktest die Natur,
Holder Frühling, Gottes Odem,
Sei gegrüßt auf unsrer Flur.
Komm und schmücke deinen Tempel,
Schmücke Wald und Wies' und Au
Wunderbar mit duft'gen Blumen,
Mit des Himmels reinstem Thau.
Hauche Gottes milden Segen,
Hauche reine, sel'ge Lust
In die andachttrunkne Seele,
In die neu erquickte Brust.

Spring song
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
You who came from the bright heights
And wakened nature,
Lovely springtime, breath of God,
We greet you upon our meadows.
Come and adorn your temple,
Adorn forest and meadow and lea
Wondrously with scented flowers,
With the purest dew of heaven.
Breathe God's gentle blessing,
Breathe pure, blissful joy
Into [my] soul, intoxicated with reverence,
Into [my] newly-refreshed bosom.
