Das liebe kleine Bäumchen hier, 
Ist, wie man sagt, gleich alt mit mir,
Trägt schon so jung und zart 
Schon Früchte von der besten Art. 

Es lohnt dem Gärtner, dessen Hand, 
So vielen Fleiß darauf verwandt:  
Wie wird es ihn erfreun, 
Wird es zum Baum erwachsen sein!  

O!  bin ich nicht den Bäumchen gleich? 
Zwar jetzt nur noch an Blüten reich: 
Doch gibt mir Gott Gedeih'n: 
So will ich's auch an Früchten sein.
