Un bel giorno di primavera passeggiammo in sù e in giù sedotti dal mistero di quel viale profondo. Spirava il vento dall'ovest sul cielo tanto azzurro. Nel tiglio una passerotta Cantava per i suoi piccoli. Dipinsi immagini poetiche con colori leggendari e attenti mi scrutarono due neri occhi lucenti. Sopra di noi s'accese un tripudio di bisbigli. ma ci dicemmo addio e mai più ci rincontrammo. E quando io passeggio tutto solo in sù e giù i piccoli pennuti non mi danno più tregua. La passera ascoltò i nostri discorsi innocenti ne fece delle rime e le mise in musica. Ora la nostra storia dei passeri è patrimonio Sotto le fronde cantano quel giorno di primavera.
