beim funkelnden, köstlichen Wein!

O du herrlicher, wonniger Wandertag
am Rhein, am sonnigen Rhein,
o du fröhlicher, lachender Menschenschlag
am Rhein, am sonnigen Rhein!

Und im Lenz wenn die Erde in Blüten steht
am sagenumwobenen Rhein,
wenn der Odem der Liebe die Brust durchweht,
Herzliebste, gedenke ich Dein!

O du fröhliche, selige Minnezeit
am Rhein, am sonnigen Rhein,
wo der Himmel so blau und das Herz so weit

Wenn dereinst mir Freund Hein mit der Sense winkt

E in primavera quando la terra è in fiore
sul Reno ricco di leggende,
quando l'alito dell'amore spira nel petto,

O felice, beato tempo dell'amore
