Zwei lange Stunden steh ich vor deiner Tür
Und sing das neue Lied: "Liebchen, komm zu mir!"
Der Mond sieht lächelnd auf mich hernieder,
Auswendig kennt er all meine Lieder,
Abend für Abend sieht er mich stehn,
Nächte um Nächte hört er mich fleh'n!
Kaum kommt die Sonne, schleich' ich nach Haus,
Die frechen Spatzen lachen mich aus,
"Mein holdes Liebchen, ach komm zu mir:
Wenn du nicht kommen willst, lass' mich zu dir!"
