There is nothing better on earth
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
There is nothing better on earth
Than when a heart in faithfulness
Has placed itself beside another heart.
Faithlessness is strong in the evil world,
But faithfulness is like God’s vault of heaven
With its star-candles.
The linden-tree soughs, the wellspring flows
Faithfulness is without winter --
Is ever green, never wilts.
And those who have found a faithful heart,
To them for their time on earth
God has given the shimmer of Heaven's sunlight.
