Den Strauß, den sie gewunden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Den Strauß, den sie gewunden
Zur schönsten aller Stunden
   Im schönen Mai zumal,
   Küss' ich viel tausendmal.

Ob Freud', ob Leid ihn feuchtet,
Wenn er von Thränen leuchtet
   An meinem Angesicht,
   Ich weiß es selber nicht.

Wohl nagt mit jedem Tage
Am Herzen mir die Klage
   Mit bösem Gift getränkt,
   Daß mein sie nicht gedenkt.

Doch in der [Thränen]1 Schimmer
Der blühnde Strauß noch immer
   Wie sonst statt ihrer spricht:
   Vergiß, vergiß mein nicht!
