Tentinejant per damunt de l’embriaguesa del sofriment veig, tremolant, a través de llàgrimes, el món renovat. Ja flaireja l’estiu pels boscos – Oh capvespres plens d’acolorit verd, oh tu, cel estrellat, que ardentment m’ompliu el cor! Amics, sou vius encara? Vi, fulgures encara? Ets meu encara, tu, món encantat, que jo, a través de llàgrimes, veig de lluny transformar-se, allà on durant molt temps hi veia tan sols buidor? Comença de nou la vella dansa en rodona, fa retornar de nou els morts el dolç encís de l’estiu? La meva ànima es malfia encara del miracle, l’estiu i el bosc encara tornen a ser meus. Però més sagrades i clares brillen les estrelles, silent, escolto cap amunt, llur còsmic repic, insolent, fa sonar per a mi la cançó del meu destí, i el meu cor fa sonar un eco vacil·lant.
