Der Trinker

Reiche mir den Becher, Knabe,
Um ohnabgesetzt zu trinken;
Fülle mit dem Zehntel Wasser
Und dem Fünftel Wein denselben,
Daß ich in dem Füssen taumel
Nur als weiser Trinken schwärme.
Reich ihn her! Denn nicht mit Schreien,
Noch mit Lärmen, wie die Scythen,
Wollen wir Lyäen dienen,
Sondern bei bescheidnen Liedern 
Laßet uns die Becher leeren!
