Sommersegen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Wir gehen durch goldenes Ährenfeld
und wissen tief zu schweigen . .
Die Sonne sinkt. Im Abendwind
sich schwer die Halme neigen.

Dein dunkles Auge glänzt und weilt
in Purpurwolkenweiten,
und deine Hand streiſt über das Korn
sacht im Vorüberschreiten.

So sacht, als wenn sie glückverträumt
strich über ein Kinderbette
und alles Glück der weiten Welt
nun süß zu eigen hätte . .

Confirmed with Saat und Ernte. Die deutsche Lyrik unserer Tage in Selbstauswahlen der Dichter und Dichterinnen, Mit kurzen Eigenbiographien und Angabe ihrer Werke herausgegeben von Albert Sergel, Berlin und Leipzig: Deutsches Verlagshaus Bong & Co., [1924], page 258.

Summer blessings
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
We walk through a golden wheat field
and know how to keep deeply silent . .
The sun sinks. In the evening breeze
the stalks bend heavily.

Your dark eyes shine and dwell
in the expanses of crimson clouds,
and your hand brushes over the wheat
gently in walking past.

As gently as if, lost in happy dreams,
it stroked the bed of a child
and now had all the happiness
of the wide world sweetly for its own . .
