Glocken der Heimat trugen uns auf,
Die wir geirrt über steinige Pfade,
Schauernd und läuternd ziehn uns hinauf
Ewig unsagbar Ströme der Gnade.
Irdische Leuchten locken uns nicht,
Was uns auf Erden durchdrang und berührte,
Hallende Chöre gehn wir im Licht,
Über Verblühendes selig Geführte.
Fern den Umschatteten drunten im Thal,
Deren sich jeder in Hoffnung getröste,
Schweben wir singend ob Sünden und Qual
In Unvergänglichkeit selig Erlöste.

Cant dels transfigurats

Les campanes de la pàtria ens han comanat,
a nosaltres, perduts en camins pedregosos,
que temorosos i purificant-nos, ens enlairem
pels eterns i indicibles devessalls de la gràcia.
Els llumeners terrenals no ens atrauen,
tot el que a la terra ens penetrà i ens commogué,
en una sonora coral anem vers la llum,
benaurats i guiats damunt el que ja és marcit.
Lluny dels qui són a l’ombra a baix a la vall,
tots als qui l’esperança consola,
surem cantant, malgrat els pecats i els turments,
nosaltres benaventurats, redimits en la immortalitat.
