by Charles Polydore de Mont (1857 - 1931)

Hoor ... Alles slaapt
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Hoor ... Alles slaapt, behalve de blâren,
die ruizelen en suizelen wonderzacht
droomend eentonig hun lijzige klacht.

Hoor ... Alles slaapt, behalve het water,
dat wenend en stenend wonderweek,
kabbelt en babbelt van kreek tot kreek.

Hoor ... Alles slaapt, behalve mijn ziele,
die hijgend toch zwijgend van één stond geluk,
als de blâren moet trillen,
als het water moet rillen
voor de morgende dag en zijn nakende druk!
