Frühlingswölkchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
  Siehst du, mein Kind, die schneeige Wölkchen?
Wiß', hinter jedem von Engeln ein Völkchen
Lauschen herab von den seligen Höhn;

Sehen die Engelein stehen im Chor;
  Schade, wie schade! darfst nimmer es hoffen,
Grad wo am Himmel die Fensterlein offen,
Ziehen die Engel ein Wölklein davor.

Spring cloudlets
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
  Do you see, my child, the snow-white cloudlets?
Know that behind each one, a small assembly of angels
Harkens from the blessed heights;
  Wonderingly they swing their shining wings
When they see the blossoming valleys and hills,
Singing: How is the world indeed so beautiful!

  Ah, my child, now could you look
Deep into the sky, the blue sky up there,
Could see the little angels standing in a group;
  A pity, such a pity! you may never hope for it,
Just where a little window is open upon the sky,
The angels draw a cloudlet in front of it.
