Die Grübchen in den Wangen, 
Das Grübchen in dem Kinn,
Drin war mich gleich gefangen 
Mein ganzer leichter Sinn,

Und in die blauen Augen,
Seh' ich da recht hinein,
Da möcht' ich mein Lebtag
Gefangen drin sein!

O Jugend, o schöne Rosenzeit!
Die Wege, die Stege sind mit Blumen bestreut;
Der Himmel steht offen, man schaut die Engelein.
O könnt' ich, Herzliebsten, stets bei dir sein!

una d’elles és la que més m’agrada;
té una boca vermella i cabells castanys;
segur que l’estimaré del tot per sempre.

Els clotets a les seves galtes,
el clotet al mentó,
a dins varen restar captius
els meus lleugers, enters sentits,

i a dins dels seus ulls blaus
faig entrar el meu esguard,
allí voldria restar captiva
tots els dies de la meva vida!

Oh joventut, oh bell temps de les roses!
Els camins, les passeres estan coberts de flors;
el cel roman obert, hom pot veure els àngels.
Oh, estimat, si pogués restar amb tu per sempre!
