Die blaue Blume
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Ich suche die blaue Blume,
Ich suche und finde sie nie,
Mir träumt, daß in der Blume
Mein gutes Glück mir blüh'.

Ich wand're mit meiner Harfe
Durch Länder, Städt' und Au'n,
Ob nirgends in der Runde
Die blaue Blume zu schau'n.

Ich wand're schon seit lange
Hab' lang' gehofft, vertraut,
Doch ach, noch nirgends hab' ich
Die blaue Blum' geschaut.

Confirmed with Joseph von Eichendorff Sämtliche Gedicht und Versepen, Frankfurt am Main: Insel Verlag, 2001, page 334.

The blue flower
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
I am seeking the blue flower,
I seek and never find it,
My dream is that in the flower
My good fortune blooms for me.

With my harp I wander
Through countries, cities, and fields,
To see if somewhere around me
I might espy the blue flower.

I have already been wandering long,
Have long hoped, trusted,
But ah, nowhere have I yet
Seen the blue flower.
