Tuona ihanana vuodenaikana
Language: Finnish (Suomi)  after the French (Français)
Tuona ihanana vuodenaikana
vaeltaessani kerran syrjäpolulla kuulin
niin suloista
ja niin upeaa laulua,
etten koskaan ollut semmoista kuullut,
satakieli siellä hilpeästi luritteli: oci, oci...

Mutta jossain kauempana oli
lintu, joka lakkaamatta huuteli
kovalla äänellä: Kukkuu!
hypellessään pensaasta pensaaseen.

Se ei millään tahtonut lopettaa,
vaan lauloi aina kovemmin ja kovemmin
siinä metsikössä: Kukkuu,
mitään muuta se ei osannut laulaa.

Samantein jätin sen sinne
ja palasin suoraan
takaisin
sen suloisen ja hyvätapaisen satakielen luo,
jonka jo olin nähnyt
ja kuullut, kun se niin iloisesti lauloi: oci...

Tuona ihanana vuodenaikana...
