Wenn die Kinder lecker sind,
müssen sie halt fasten;
fest schließt Mutter alles zu,
Schränke, Spind und Kasten.

Keine Semmel zum Kaffee
gibt es, keinen Zucker,
auf die Schnitte Vesperbrot
nicht ein bißchen Butter!

Little snacking one

Language: English after the German (Deutsch)

If the children like to snack,
they simply have to fast;
mother locks up everything,
cupboards, lockers, and boxes.

There are no buns with 
the coffee, no sugar,
upon the piece of bread at evening
not a smidge of butter!
