En respirer, voluptueux,
L'enivrant parfum qui me grise.
Comme au hasard, sans y penser,
Serait-ce vraimant t'offenser
Si sur tes lèvres de cerise
Je mettais, sachant t'apaiser
Avec l'amour que tu m'a prise,
Toute ma vie en un baiser?

Love Sonnet

Beneath the sun that makes it shimmer,
Highlighting its silky luster,
I want to brush through your blond hair
Passing as lightly as a breeze,
And on your charming neck, where a curl
Lies in an undulating ringlet,
Inhaling, sensuously,
Exhilarating fragrance that intoxicates me.
And perchance, without a thought,
Would it truly offend you
If, on your crimson lips
I placed – knowing how to appease you – 
With the love you take from me,
My entire life in a kiss?
