Die Rose sitzt auf dem Throne, ihr ist ja die größte Macht; sie trägt den Scepter, die Krone über aller Blumen Pracht. Im festlichen Frühlingsprangen tritt Nelk' und Veilchen heran, mit Demuth tragend Verlangen ihrem Königsstuhl zu nahn. Springe nebst Myrthenzweigen, die Lilie auf schlanken Stiel, ihrer Hoheit tief sich neigen im glänzenden Farbenspiel. Sie öffnen die Opferschalen, da duftet der bunte Kranz, doch schwindend in ihren Strahlen wie Stern' in der Sonne Glanz. Ein Flor von tausend reichen Gedanken blüht mir im Sinn, dir müssen sie alle weichen, denn du bist die Rose darin.
