Et soupire à travers les fleurs dans la vallée,
Et ressent bercée dans le courant,
Ou ensorcelée dans la fontaine, seulement un tourment !
La vague est pleine de nostalgie
Dans la source qui chuchote,
Dans le ruisseau qui murmure,
Dans la vasque d'une fontaine,
Pour la mer d'où elle vient,
Où elle a pris vie,
Où faible et lasse d'errer
Elle espère un doux repos et la paix.
