Wie ein Duft von wilden Rosen
Schwebt die Glut verstohlner Küsse
Dort bezaubernd in den Lüften.
Ach, und wenn der Abend dunkelt,
Unverhüllt durch die Gemächer
Wandelt mit geschwungner Fackel
Eros dann, und unablässig
Sprühn der Sehnsucht irre Funken
Weiterzündend um ihn her.

Wo am Herd ein Brautpaar siedelt,

com un perfum de roses salvatges,
allà hi sura l’ardor de besades furtives
que encisen els aires.
Ai, i quan es fa fosc, llavors,
obertament, per les estances,
Eros es passeja brandant una torxa
i incessantment espurnegen 
les folles guspires del deler, 
encenent-se al seu voltant.
