Überall blüht nun die Liebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG
Überall blüht nun die Liebe,
Laß uns in die Gärten gehn,
Wo die kleinen frommen Primeln
Zärtlich schon in Paaren stehn.
In den Gärten, wo die Schritte
Und die Worte nicht mehr eilen,
Wo die Träume unter weißen süßen Bäumen
Wie in lauter Wolken weilen.
Viele kleine trunkne Vögel
Kommen dir ans Herz geflogen,
Sind vom Land, wo Honig fließt,
Mit der Sonne hergezogen.
Lausche mit versunknem Auge,
Meine Lippen wollen schwören.
Gib Erhörung meinen Lippen,
Meinem ewigjungen Sehnen
Gib Betören.

Love now blossoms everywhere
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Love now blossoms everywhere.
Let us go into the garden
Where the good little primroses
Already stand tenderly in pairs.
Into the garden, where our footsteps
And our words no longer hurry,
Where, under the sweet white trees, dreams
Seem to tarry in pure clouds.
Many little birds, drunk [with joy]
Come flying to your bosom;
From the land where honey flows
They have travelled here with the sun.
Listen with rapt eyes,
My lips wish to make a vow.
Grant the request of my lips,
To my eternally new longing
Offer beguilement.
