Haustvisa
Language: Norwegian (Nynorsk)
Sumaren kverv og snur seg burt;
Dag etter Dag han ut or Synom siger.
Graset vil verda styrdt og turt.
Ljoset vil minka; Myrkret stiger.
Dagen er stutt, og Natti lang;
so er no Aarsens gamle Gang.

Lysande gult er Lauvet litt.
Heppelegt Liv, som fær so fager Daude!
Skogen er trøytt av Plagget sitt;
ymise Toppar standa snaude.
Losnat av Kvistom eitt og eitt
ligg yver Jordi Lauvet breidt.

Snart er den ljose Bjørki snaud;
snart faa me sjaa det sidste Lauvet losna.
Hagen er tom, og Engi aud,
Røterna standa i Jordi frosna.
Men yver Jordi, aud og tom,
ligger det Fræ til Gras og Blom.

Vetteren kjemer kald og streng;
sæl er no den, som kann i Husom hyggjast.
Gleda flyr ifraa Mark og Eng,
Fuglarne burt or Bygdom styggjast,
men sine Reid ifraa sidste Vaar
vitja dei vist eit annat Aar.

Endaa me vilja paa Landet sjaa,
helst naar me faa ein liten Glytt av Soli.
Eingong me [fegre]1 Dagar faa,
helst naar det lider fram um Joli.
Og etter all den lange Kvild
kjemer vel Vaaren, ljos og mild.
