en un arbre verd, en la llum verda,
que ell és el formós rossinyol,
l’ocellet, no ho sap pas.

Una donzella blanca com la neu
viu al quart pis prop de la llum del cel,
que ella és la més formosa de la ciutat,
la bella criatura, no ho sap pas.

Ells no ho saben, i a baix de tot
un home, a qui se li esquinça el cor,
va vers la donzella i el rossinyol,
els seus sanglots s’enlairen, ells no ho saben.
