Schlafe Kindlein
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Schlafe Kindlein, schlafe ein,
Schließe deine Äugelein!
Schlaf in guter, süßer Ruh,
Tue deine Äuglein zu!

Kommt ihr Englein weiß und rein,
Wiegt mir wohl mein Kindelein,
Wiegt sein Herzchen sanft und gut,
Wie der Wind der Lilie tut.

Schlafe Kindlein, schlafe nun,
Sollst in Gottes Frieden ruhn,
Denn die lieben Engelein
Wollen deine Wächter sein.

Sleep little child
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Sleep little child, go to sleep,
Close your eyes!
Sleep in good, sweet rest
Close your eyes!

Come you angels, white and pure,
Rock well my little child,
Rock his heart gently and well,
Like the wind rocks the lily.

Sleep little child, go to sleep now,
You shall rest in God's peace,
For the dear little angels
Wish to keep watch over you.
