Vilddjursjakten

En höstkvall var luften som bly;
korna på marken vred sig tungt i sömnen.
Då upplystes plötsligt 
horisonten av en blixt
och min älskade sjöng på mitt tak:
"Tvillingdraken Begär och Hat 
lever av manniskans blod.
En gång skall jag blåsa i hornet:
då lystrar min jägarskara.
Fria från vinnings lystnad 
och djurisk förstörelselusta
församlas de trogna, mitt utvalda folk
på Handlingens väg och Betraktelsens väg och
den stora Försakelsevägen.
Kanhända är vetande bättre än flit,
men bättre än båda är kärlek,
och den som av kärlek har avstått från sig själv,
är den bäste kamraten vid min sida.
Det tassar i odjurshålan;
där glimmar fantastiska sken,
Sjakalögon, tigerögon.
Den som lyfter mitt svärd får kraft av min kraft,
han fullgör mitt verk på jorden."

Die Raubtierjagd

Ein Herbstabend finster wie Blei.
Stöhnend das Vieh in dunklem Feld liegt schlafen.
Dann, plötzlich erflammend, 
glüht ein Blitzstrahl durch die Nacht,
in der Dämmerung singt nun mein Freund:
"Hass, Begierde, der Zwillingdrache 
nährt sich von menschlichem Blut.
Doch einst wird mein Horn erklingen,
dann nahn meine Jägerschaaren.
Frei der Gewinnungssucht 
und niedriger Raubtierwut,
Versammelt sich treues, mir erkornes Volk
auf dem Wege des Wirkens, dem Weg der Besinnung
und dem Wege der hohen Entsagung.
Wohl scheint es das Wissen sei klüger als Fleiss,
doch klüger als alles ist Liebe.
Und der, wer aus Liebe sein Eignes vergass,
ist der beste Begleiter meines Willens.
Es tappt in der Raubtierhöle,
da glimmt es in spukhafter Glut,
Schakalaugen, Tigeraugen.
Hebe mutig dein Schwert, ich gebe dir Kraft,
du vollbringt mein Werk auf Erden!"
