Der Maien, der Maien, der bringt uns der Blümlein viel! Ich trag' ein freies Gemüte, Gott weiß wohl, wenn ich's will! Er will's einem freien Gesellen, derselbe, der wirbt um mich! Er trägt ein seiden Wämslein an, darin so preist er sich! Er meint, es sing' eine Nachtigall, da war's ein Jungfräulein! Und kann sie ihm nicht werden, so trauret das Herze sein.
