Dunkle Stille der Kindheit. Unter grünenden Eschen
Weidet die Sanftmut bläulichen Blickes; goldene Ruh.
Ein Dunkles entzückt der Duft der Veilchen; schwankende Ähren
Im Abend, Samen und die goldenen Schatten der Schwermut.
Balken behaut der Zimmermann; im dämmernden Grund
Mahlt die Mühle; im Hasellaub wölbt sich ein purpurner Mund,
Männliches rot über schweigende Wasser geneigt.
Leise ist der Herbst, der Geist des Waldes; goldene Wolke
Folgt dem Einsamen, der schwarze Schatten des Enkels.
Neige in steinernem Zimmer; unter alten Zypressen
Sind der Tränen nächtige Bilder zum Quell versammelt;
Goldenes Auge des Anbeginns, dunkle Geduld des Endes.

Broute  la douceur d'un regard bleuté ; repos doré.
Le parfum des violette charme une obscurité ; épis chancelants
Dans le soir, semences et ombres dorées de la mélancolie.
Le charpentier taille des poutres ; dans la ravine crépusculaire
Tourne le moulin ; une bouche pourpre s'arrondit dans le noisetier,
Rouge masculin penché sur l'eau silencieuse.
Il est feutré, l'automne, l'esprit de la forêt ; un nuage d'or
Suit le solitaire, l'ombre noire du petit fils.
Déclin dans une chambre de pierre ; sous de vieux cyprès
Des images nocturnes de larmes sont rassemblées dans un puits ;
Œil d'or de l'origine, sombre patience de la fin.
