Zu düst'ren Höhlen flieht der Leichenvögel blinde Schar; ihr dumpfer Klageton beklemmt das bange Herz nicht mehr. Simon Des Tages Herold meldet sich; mit scharfem Laute rufet er zu neuer Tätigkeit den ausgeruhten Landmann auf.
