Come far (dicca) lassa, ò Signor mio,
Puoi senza me quest’ ultima partita?
Come, morendo tù, viver poss’io?
Che se morir pur vuoi, l’anima unita
Ho teco (il sai, mio Redentor, mio Dio)
Però teco haver deggio e morte, e vita.

Nul n'a émis, depuis que la vie est vie,
Perle ou or plus beaux que ceux de l'Inde ou de l'Atlas.
Comment peux-tu laisser faire, disait-elle, ô mon Seigneur,
Sans moi cet ultime départ ?
Comment, si tu meurs, puis-je vivre ?
Même si tu veux mourir, mon âme est unie
Avec toi, tu le sais, mon Rédempteur, mon Dieu,
Mais avec toi je dois avoir et la mort et la vie.
