Steht ein Haselstrauch an [unsrem]1 Wiesenhang,
der hat Blätter rot wie Blut. 
Saß ich dort so manchesmal und lacht'und sang,
Ach [nun]2 ist mir weh zu Mut. 

Hängt ein rotes Kleid in meinem Kleiderspind,
und daneben steh'n die Schuh', 
die den bösen Weg mit mir gewandert sind, 
wo mein Herz verlor die Ruh. 

Liegt ein kleines Bild veborgen [tief im]3 Schrein,
seh es nimmer, nimmer an. 
[Denn der's einst mir gab, ach er ist Schuld allein]4, 
daß ich nicht mehr froh sein kann.
