Abend‑ und Morgenrot
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT ENG FRE
Die Mücke sitzt am Fenster
Im goldnen Abendschein,
Sie putzt sich ihre Flügel
Und nickt dann ruhig ein.
Und in der stillen Kammer
Da schlummert eine Maid,
Die hat der Tod geknicket
In ihrer Blütezeit;
Und als die Morgensonne
Die Fenster hell beglänzt,
Da wird die blasse Tote
Geschmücket und bekränzt;
Und als man trägt die Leiche
Hinaus zum Kämmerlein,
Da spielt die Mücke fröhlich
Im goldnen Sonnenschein.
Note: "Morgenroth" would be modernized to "Morgenrot"

Capvespre i aurora
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
El mosquit s'atura a la finestra
en la daurada llum del capvespre,
es neteja les ales i, tot seguit,
fa una becaina.
I, a la cambra silenciosa,
reposa una donzella
que la mort ha segat
en la flor de la seva vida.
I quan el sol del matí
omple de llum la finestra,
la pàl·lida morta
és abillada i entoiada.
I quan treuen el cos
a fora, a la recambra,
el mosquit s'esplaia jogasser
en la daurada llum del sol.
