Ich gäbe Schmuck und Ringe
Um einen langen Kuss.
Hätt' ich des Windes Fuss,
Hätt' ich des Windes Schwinge!

Den süssen Freund zu grüssen
Wollt' ich die Welt durchwehn,
Und stumm zu seinen Füssen
Vergehn.

I would give my most beautiful dress,
If he were here.

I would give [my] jewels and rings
For a long kiss.
Had I but the feet of the wind,
Had I the wings of the wind!

To greet my sweet friend
I would blow through the world,

Dissolve.
