Schaut ihn, hoch vom Söller aus, das Mädchen, Schaut ihn an, und sprach in ihrem Herzen: "Lieber Gott! welch wundersamer Jüngling! Wenn Du diesen mir zum Glückstheil gäbest, Nelken wollt' ich ihm zum Lager streuen, Rothe Rosen unter seinem Haupte, Daß der süße Duft ihn oft erwecke, Und er mir das weiße Antlitz küsse!" -
