Mo'r, Mo'r. Kan du høre de listende Trin?
Jeg svarer dig Barn, det er Vind, kun Vind.
Aa Mo'r. Men hvem er da Vinden?

Du lange dreng. Kan du være saa dum,
den kommer -- den kommer fra det store Rum.
Aa Mo'r; men hvem er da Vinden?

Vinden. Vinden er Storm og Blæst!
Spørg ikke mere. Det sømmer sig bedst.

Ce n'est que le vent qui bruisse dans les feuilles et les rameaux.
Ô mère. Est-ce seulement le vent ?

Mère, mère. Entends-tu ces pas furtifs ?
Je te dis, mon enfant, c'est le vent, que le vent
Ô mère, mais qui donc est le vent ?

Tu es un grand garçon,comment peux-tu être aussi sot !
Il vient. Il vient des grands espaces.
Ô mère. Mais qui donc est le vent ?

Le vent, le vent, c'est la tempête et la brise !
