i Solnedgang sig soler.
Der drømmer unge Piger
i blaa og røde Kjoler.
Ser saa langt over Havets Spejl,
fjernt gaar Brisen med hvide Sejl.

Gyldne og Sølverbaade
i blide Dønninger gynger.
Toner dirrer fra Kysten,
Klaveret klager og synger.
I Aftenens gyldne Glorie
med sang over Sø og Skær
er Hjerternes Længsel sær.

Det er den gamle Historie:
Vi længes mod en, vi har kær.

Des bateaux jaunes et bleus
se chauffent au soleil couchant.
Là, une jeune fille rêve
en robe bleue et rouge.
Elle regarde longtemps le miroir de l'eau,
au loin passe une voile blanche dans la brise.

Des bateaux argentés et dorés
se balancent sur une molle houle.
Venant de la côte, des notes vibrent,
Le piano se plaint et chante.
Dans la gloire d'un soir d'or
avec un chant sur la mer et le récif,
les cœurs sont étrangement  langoureux.

C'est une vieille histoire :
Quand on se languit de quelqu'un, on est amoureux.
