und ist doch noch nit Zeit,
man wirft mich mit dem Ballen,
der Weg ist mir verschneit.

Mein Haus hat keinen Giebel,
es ist mir worden alt,
zerbrochen sind die Riegel,
mein Stüblein ist mir kalt.

Ach Lieb, lass dich erbarmen, 
daß ich so elend bin,
und schleuß mich in dein Arme:
so fährt der Winter hin.

There has been a snowfall
and it is not yet time for that;
snowballs are being thrown at me,
my pathway is all covered with snow.

My house has no gable,
it has grown old on me,
the latches are broken,
I find my little room cold.

Ah love, take pity
that I am so miserable,
and take me in your arms:
then the winter would depart.
