Arkihuolesi kaikki heitä
Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Our translations:  ENG
Arkihuolesi kaikki heitä,
mieles nuorena nousta suo!
Armas joulu jo kutsuu meitä
taasen muistojen suurten luo.
Kylmä voisko nyt olla kellä,
talven säästä kun tuoksahtaa
lämmin leuto ja henkäys hellä,
rinnan jäitä mi liuottaa?

Syttyi siunattu joulutähti
yöhön maailman raskaaseen,
hohde määrätön siitä lähti,
viel' on auvona ihmisten;
kun se loistavi lasten teille,
päilyy järvet ja kukkii haat,
kuusen kirkkahan luona heille
siintää onnelan kaukomaat.

Cast away all your cares of sadness
Language: English  after the Finnish (Suomi)
Cast away all your cares of sadness,
Raise your mind from daily care.
Christmas calls to you with gladness,
Mem’ries jubilant flood the air.
Who can stay in a cold seclusion
Hearing songs mid the smell of pines?
Knowing joy in bright profusion
How a heart into warmth inclines.

O’er the suffering world of labor
Breaks a wondrous star of light.
Rays reach out to touch our neighbor,
Filling spirits with grace delight.
Hear the voices of children smiling,
Fields in wintertime seem to bloom—
The remotest heart beguiling,
Chasing sorrow, dispelling gloom!
