L’infant jau als braços del seu pare, reposa tan bé, reposa tan calentet, somriu dolçament: “Estimat pare meu!” I amb el somriure s’adorm. El pare es vincla, respirant a penes, i escolta el somni del seu infant; pensa en el temps passat amb melangiosa tendresa. I una llàgrima del fons del seu cor cau a la boca del seu fill; prest li eixuga amb un bes i suaument el bressola. Per tot l’or del món no donaria pas l’infant del seu cor; afortunat és en aquest món qui té la benaurança als seus braços!
