Aus schwarzen Wolken
Nach tiefer Nacht
Da leuchtet die Sonne
In doppelter Pracht.

So blüht auch Liebe
In neuem Licht;
Drum laß das Klagen
Und weine nicht!

Ich sing' in Schlummer
Dich leis' und fein,
Mit meinen Strahlen

And dry the tears
Upon your face.

And though the rose wilts
Upon the autumnal field,
Springs only wakens it
To greater beauty.

Trust in the stars,
Trust in time,
The mists shall vanish,
Sorrow shall depart.

From out of black clouds
After deep night
The sun shines 
In double splendour.

Thus love, too, blooms
In a new light;
Therefore leave off lamenting
And do not weep!

I shall sing you into slumber
Softly and delicately,
With my beams
I shall lull you to sleep.
