In der Mitternacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Todesstille deckt das Thal
Bey des Mondes [halbem]1 Strahl;
Winde flistern, dumpf und bang,
In des Wächters Nachtgesang.

Leiser, dumpfer tönt es hier
In der bangen Seele mir,
Nimmt den Strahl der Hoffnung fort,
Wie den Mond die Wolke dort.

Hüllt, ihr Wolken, hüllt den Schein
Immer tiefer, tiefer ein!
Vor ihm bergen will mein Herz
Seinen tiefen, tiefen Schmerz.

Nennen soll ihn nicht mein Mund;
Keine Thräne mach' ihn kund;
Senken soll man ihn hinab
Einst mit mir ins kühle Grab.

O der schönen langen Nacht,
Wo nicht Erden-Liebe lacht,
Wo verlaßne Treue nicht
Ihren Kranz von Dornen flicht!

An des Todes milder Hand
Geht der Weg ins Vaterland;
Dort ist Liebe sonder Pein;
Selig, selig werd' ich seyn.

A la mitjanit
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
Un silenci de mort cobreix la vall
en la claror de la mitja lluna;
el vent xiuxiueja, llòbrec i angoixant,
en el cant de nit del vigilant.

Ressona més fluixet, més somort
aquí, a la meva ànima angoixada,
s’emporta el raig de l’esperança
com allà dalt els núvols se’n duen la lluna.

Cobriu, oh núvols, cobriu la resplendor
sempre més intensament!
D’ella, vol amagar el meu cor
la seva profunda, profunda pena.

La meva boca no l’anomenarà pas;
cap llàgrima la donarà a conèixer;
un dia haurà de ser enterrada
amb mi, a la freda tomba.

Oh, aquesta formosa, llarga nit
en la que cap amor terrenal somriu,
en la que la infidelitat
no trena la seva corona d’espines!

En la dolça mà de la mort,
el camí mena a la pàtria,
allà l’amor no coneix la pena;
jo seré feliç, feliç.
