Wenn sie mich nur von weiten sieht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Wenn sie mich nur von weiten sieht,
so läuft sie was sie kann;
Wie Feuer ihr Gesicht'chen glüht,
Sie sieht mich gar nicht an.
Sie sucht sich schnelle loszudrehn,
Wenn sie mein Arm umschliesst;
Das müsste doch ein Blinder sehn,
Dass dieses Liebe ist.

Wenn ich ihr etwas Schönes sag',
So lacht sie über mich,
Oft manche Stunde, manchen Tag,
Ist sie nicht recht bei sich.
Mann sieht ihr's gar zu deutlich an,
Dass alles sie verdriesst,
Nun leugne ferner, wer es kann,
Dass dieses Liebe ist.

If she sees me from afar
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
If she sees me from afar,
she runs away as fast as she can;
Her countenance is flushed, and
She can’t even look at me.
She tries to wriggle free,
Whenever my arm reaches around her;
Even a blind man can see, that
This is love.

When I say pretty things to her,
She laughs in my face,
Some hours, some days,
She doen’t seem quite right.
One can see so clearly,
That whatever annoys her this much,
Deny it, if you can,
This is love.
