J’ai pris le sentier qui suit la vallée,
Le jli sentier de genêts ;
Ce sentier, je le reconnais.
Toute la ramure est ensoleillée,
Il me semble que je renais !

Après de trop longues années,
Je reviens au pays natal ;
Bien des illusions, helas ! se sont fanées,
Que j’emportai d’espoir enrubannées,
Doux bagage sentimental !

Je veux oublier les épreuves
Qui m’attendaient où j’ai passé,
Chercher des illusions neuves,
Et que tout soit effacé
Des miseres de passé !

Voici les bruyères roses,
Voici les prés reverdis !
Enfant, j’amais déjà la douceur de ces choses,
Maintenant que j’y viens l’âme et le cœur grandis,
Je crois entrer au paradis !

Les duia amb mi, embolcallades d'esperança,
Dolç bagatge sentimental!

Vull oblidar les proves
Que m'esperaven on he estat,
Cercar noves il·lusions,
I que tot sigui esborrat
De les misèries del passat!

Aquí hi ha el bruc vermell,
Aquí hi ha els prats verdejants!
De petit, ja estimava la dolçor d'aquestes coses,
Ara que hi torno amb l'ànima i el cor ja fets grans,
Crec entrar al paradís!
