Rache
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Chinese (中文) 
"Weh!" lallte sie. "Hörst du den Hahn, der ruft?"
"Nein," sprach er, "nein, die Nacht ist schwarz und tief,
Das war des Hahnes Stimme nicht, Geliebte ... "

"Ich fleh dich an, steh auf, zieh die Gardinen
Beiseit und frag den Himmel, süßer Freund!"

Er sprang empor: "Weh uns! Der Morgenstern
Steigt schon am Horizonte bleich herauf ... !"

"Die Morgenröte -," flüsterte sie bang,
"Nun mußt du fort! Wie soll ich das ertragen?
Ha! Eh du gehst, nimm Rache an dem Unhold,
Der uns so grausam auseinanderreißt!

Nimm deinen Bogen, schieße diesen Pfeil
Dem Hahn ins Herz!
