Bardzo raniuchno wschodziło słoneczko,
Mama przy szklannym okienku siedziała,
"Skąd że to", pyta, "powracasz córeczko?
Gdzieś twój wianeczek na głowie zmaczała?"
"Kto tak raniuchno musi wodę nosić,
Nie dziw, że może swój wianeczek zrosić."
"Ej, zmyślasz, dziecię! Ej, zmyślasz, dziecię!
Tyś zapewne, tyś zapewne w pole,
Z twoim młodzianem gawędzić pobiegła."
"Prawda, prawda, Matusiu, prawdę wyznać wolę,
Mojegom w polu młodziana spostrzegła,
Kilka chwil tylko zeszło na rozmowie,
Tym czasem wianek zrosił się na głowie."

Very early one morning, the sun was rising,
Near the glass window, Mother was sitting;
"Where," she asks, "are you coming from, my daughter?
Where did you get your wreath all wet?"
"Those who must go bring water so early -
It's no wonder that they might get dew on their wreaths."
"Eh, you're making things up, child!
You probably ran off into the field
 To chat with that boy!"
"It's true, true, Mother, truth I'd rather say -
My sweetheart I spotted in the field;
We only spent a few minutes talking,
and in that time, dew settled on my wreath."
