Bardzo raniuchno wschodziło słoneczko,
Mama przy szklannym okienku siedziała,
"Skąd że to", pyta, "powracasz córeczko?
Gdzieś twój wianeczek na głowie zmaczała?"
"Kto tak raniuchno musi wodę nosić,
Nie dziw, że może swój wianeczek zrosić."
"Ej, zmyślasz, dziecię! Ej, zmyślasz, dziecię!
Tyś zapewne, tyś zapewne w pole,
Z twoim młodzianem gawędzić pobiegła."
"Prawda, prawda, Matusiu, prawdę wyznać wolę,
Mojegom w polu młodziana spostrzegła,
Kilka chwil tylko zeszło na rozmowie,
Tym czasem wianek zrosił się na głowie."

Tôt le matin, le soleil se levait,
Maman était assise près du carreau de la fenêtre,
« D'où viens-tu ? » demande-t-elle, « d'où viens-tu ma fille ?
Où as-tu mouillé ton bandeau ? »
« Celles qui doivent porter l'eau tôt le matin,
Ce n'est pas étonnant qu'elles puissent avoir mouillé leur bandeau. »
« Eh, tu inventes, ma fille ! Eh, tu inventes, ma fille ! »
Sans doute tu étais, sans doute tu étais dans le champ
Avec un jeune homme pour bavarder ! »
« C'est vrai, c'est vrai, Maman, je t'avoue la vérité,
Dans le champ j'ai vu mon ami,
Quelques instants seulement nous avons bavardé,
