"Das ist nicht die Wahrheit, das ist nicht die Wahrheit, bist gegangen in des Frührot's Stunden, hast dort im Feld den Geliebten gefunden." "Ach ja, ach ja liebe Mutter, will dir's eingestehen, er wollt' bei Tages Anbruch gern mich sehen; hielt mich auf so lange, sprach von Lieb' und Sehnen, und dabei, und dabei wurden feucht mir Haar und Wangen, feucht von seinen Tränen.
